Emotional intelligence predicts 58% of job performance and only 36% of people are able to accurately identify their emotions (Bradberry and Greaves 2009).

Definition: EI is the ability an individual has to:

a) Recognize, understand and manage his/her emotions

b) Recognize, understand and influence the emotions of others

Emotional Intelligence Composites assessed by the emotional intelligence test EQi 2.0 provide a tangible format to help leaders name and identify emotional skills. The test helps them identify their areas of strengths and weaknesses. Coaching leaders on the EQi 2.0 composites helps them learn how to leverage their areas of strengths, and decide which areas they may need to improve on depending on their job specific needs.

Learning objectives:

  • Have an EI theoretical framework to observe self and others
  • Have some tools to enhance at least one subscale of your EQ
  • Have some tools to assist in team growth
  • Discuss use of EQ subscales to possibly determine hiring criteria
