non-profit of the quarter
Baltimore Hunger Project is dedicated to eliminating the growing problem of weekend childhood hunger by feeding bodies and minds. We are bridging the gap between Friday and Monday by consistently providing weekend food packages to children identified as food insecure, in a compassionate and dignified manner. We raise awareness about the effects of hunger by establishing partnerships with community members, other organizations, and decision makers.
hoCo HRS' commitment to "becHaRitable"
Our chapter feels that it is of the utmost importance to support our community as a whole, and our "becHaRitable" efforts are how we have been able to do that. In past years we have organized volunteer events with various non-profits, while donating time and funds to those organizations so that they can support our local community. We felt that it was important to pivot these efforts so that we could still support our local non-profits, even during the pandemic. Our Non-Profit of the Quarter program allows us to showcase a non-profit in Howard County or the Baltimore metro area - we highlight them in our newsletter, they present at a monthly meeting, and our chapter makes a donation as well. We highly encourage you to check out their websites and consider getting involved in someway. We look forward to continuing this program, and hopefully getting back to in-person volunteering events sometime soon!
do you know of a local non-profit that you would like to see us showcase?
Send their information to [email protected] so that our becHaRitable committee can discuss potential opportunities to support them!
