About our program and speaker

Gerry Sandusky, with a background in professional sports, and later partnering with HR professional Lisa Willis, developed a program to support talent outreach and development on any team not just professional sports.  In their presentation, they will share with HR professionals their unique direction on the talent landscape of teams, departments, and organization, by focusing on strategic hiring practices and eliminating the time consuming, complicated annual performance review. Gerry and Lisa’s strategic hiring practices will guide the HR professional through developing in house talent, not unlike the work done in professional athletic circles.

Gerry Sandusky is the New York Times best-selling author of Forgotten Sundays, the play-by-play voice for the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens, and a three-decade veteran of TV broadcasting. The son of long-time NFL coach John Sandusky, Gerry grew up in the world of professional sports and talent evaluation. Trigger initially grew out of audience’s asking Gerry during speaking engagements why certain athletes stayed in pro sports while others disappeared, unable to get another team to sign them. Gerry is also an Emmy and Edward R. Award winning broadcaster who lives in Baltimore, Maryland with his wife Lee Ann. Gerry and Lee Ann are grateful that their grown children have chosen fun towns like New Orleans and Nashville to call home. And yes, Gerry is well aware of the double takes his name causes. His standard introduction and explanation is, “Gerry with a G. No relation to the former Penn State coach.” It’s okay to admit you feel better about Gerry now.
